Spring 2019

Women's Bible Studies

Join us for a Women’s Bible study this year! Here at NMC we hold high the Word of God and seek to study it, know it and apply it to our lives. Doing this in a group setting provides an opportunity to study together and learn from each other.

Our Spring Bible studies begin early March and start and end dates for each study will vary. Registration for Bible studies is required and participants are responsible for purchasing their own book.

NMC Bible studies are offered at various days and times throughout the week and childcare is offered only for Wednesday morning studies for a nominal fee with registration. Childcare registration can be found on the same form as the Bible study registration below.

His Last Words by Kim Erickson

Facilitators: Barbara Smith
Dates: March 5-April 22

Imagine knowing you only have several more hours to live. Picture the faces of your loved ones gathered around you. Allow the emotions to rise up in your heart. What would you say? John 13–17 records Jesus’ last words to the disciples before His death, revealing what was most important to Him. When we study those words and prayers today, we enter deep into the heart of Jesus and come away changed: overwhelmed by the love of God, inspired to follow Him, and empowered to spread the gospel.

His Last Words is a 7-week Bible study that plumbs the depths of Jesus’ final teachings to the disciples. Jesus’ last words are words of eternal life—powerful and full of love. If you’ve been longing for more intimacy in your relationship with God, more meaning in your life, and more boldness in your witness, His Last Words will draw you into just what you need: the Word of God.

Job: A Story of Unlikely Joy by Lisa Harper

Facilitators: Jennifer Maner & Kendra Fulford
Dates:
March 6-April 24

Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord. And while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus.

Just ask Job, the man from Uz who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away. But how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow? In this 7-session study by Lisa Harper, discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. Learn to use pain to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and remember God’s providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you.

Hosea by Jennifer Rothschild

Facilitator: Cindy Adair & Maggie Meacham
Dates
: March 6-April 24

The Book of Hosea is a deeply personal and passionate love story, yet it’s a difficult story. As an account full of harsh judgment unfolds, we find in its midst a rare gem: the truest and purest of loves. Hosea, an old-testament prophet, preached his own life message using his marriage as the sermon illustration. This study of Hosea looks deeply at that message. You’ll be guided to understand, but more especially to apply, the message of the prophet of love. Hosea showers us with hope and points to the coming of the promised Messiah. Be amazed by the love of Hosea for his wayward spouse—and more amazed by the unfailing love of God for His wayward people.
